Christopher Cutting, Fort Hunt High School 1976

The fund was established in 1976 in loving memory of a Fort Hunt High School drum major, Christopher Cutting, by his parents who wished to leave a legacy of financial support for music students at West Potomac. Today, talented students in the West Potomac Bands who cannot afford lessons are able to receive private instruction through the support of the Cutting Fund.

A fundraiser concert is held each year – March Madness! Enjoy a selection of energetic, toe-tapping marches performed by West Potomac Band students and local professional and retired musicians under the direction of the West Potomac Band Director and special guests. All funds raised through this concert go directly to the Cutting Fund to ensure it continues to remain a source of music education and inspiration for generations to come.
