Band Boosters
The West Potomac Band Patrons Organization, known as the Band Boosters, is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that plays an integral role in the continued success of the West Potomac High School band program. The Boosters provide essential support in several key areas:
- Financial: Fundraising to provide additional band staff, clinicians, equipment, transportation, food, and other costs.
- Physical: Helping to load the trailer, haul instruments and props, and provide logistical support.
- Fashion: Assisting with uniform fittings, carrying extra socks, gloves, gauntlets, or even pants to ensure every student is performance ready.
- Nutritional: Providing meals for band members during band camp, competitions, and contests.
- Emotional: Serving as the band’s biggest cheering section and source of encouragement.
The management of the organization includes the Executive Board and Committees.
The Boosters are truly instrumental (pun intended) in keeping the band thriving. Membership is open to parents, guardians, or other persons with a child enrolled and attending West Potomac High School. More specifically, active membership in the organization is available to any parent or guardian of a student participating in the overall band program.
Meetings
Booster meetings are held on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. in Springbank, unless otherwise noted by booster communications.
