HELLO WOLVERINE BAND!

 


It’s December, which means some wonderful band concerts plus District Band auditions are right around the corner, so grab your calendar …


WEDNESDAY AFTER-SCHOOL CONCERT REHEARSAL …  Students in 1st, 4th and 5th period band will have a dress rehearsal after school at 3:30 on Wednesday, Dec. 6th. (It’s called a dress rehearsal, but don’t worry -- they don’t need to bring in their uniforms.)


6pm REPORT TIME FOR 7:30pm BAND CONCERT THURSDAY … Our first concert of the year is Thursday, Dec. 7th at 7:30pm. The students have an early report time -- 6pm sharp! -- because we need to take a picture for the yearbook that night. Kids should come in with their entire uniforms in hand. Please do take the time now to check to make sure there’s no hemming needed before the concert! (You can find fabric tape at WalMart if needles and thread aren’t your thing.) BUY SPIRITWEAR & JEWELRY AT THE CONCERT … Support band and find great holiday gifts at our Dec. 7th concert. Band boosters will be selling spirit wear and great jewelry outside in the hallway that night.

 


SIGN UP TO HELP WITH DISTRICT BAND DEC. 9TH

You folks are amazing. It’s only Dec. 1st, and we’ve already got many of our volunteer shifts covered for when we host District Band! We do still have a handful of critical openings, like: 1) Afternoon traffic control (we can offer free hot beverages to entice you!)  2) Practice room announcers (sounds way more intimidating than it actually is!) and 3) Student volunteer check-in (you get to say hello to lots of our own nice band kids). COMBINED CONCERT DEC. 12th … First period band and the senior jazz band will perform in the Music Department’s combined holiday concert on Tuesday, Dec. 12th. Stay tuned for more info.


JAZZ BAND UPDATE

Jazz band rehearsals are in full swing. (Heh-heh. Get it?) Underclassmen are M/W and Seniors are T/Th.

Love our Wolverine Band program? Support the band booster organization at the following levels and you’ll be recognized in our concert programs:


Musician        $100 donation

Chair              $150 donation

Soloist          $250 donation

Director         $500 donation


Any donations you’ve already made for this school year will be included. For example, if you already gave the suggested $50 contribution for marching band, an additional $50 donation puts you at the “musician” level. Contact treasurer@wolverineband.com with questions.
